UAE’s EDGE unveils sovereign MK 82 Penetrator munition

EDGE, a UAE technology firm, has finalized the development of its MK 82 Penetrator aircraft munition, designed as a bunker buster weapon system. During final qualification tests conducted at an undisclosed location, the MK 82 Penetrator successfully penetrated reinforced concrete structures exceeding one meter in thickness. Crucially, the munitions demonstrated no “J effect” during these trials, indicating a significant design achievement. The manufacturer reports that this sovereign capability represents a key advancement for the United Arab Emirates’ defense sector. This hardened-target munition is intended to address challenging operational requirements.
