ACI Europe broadens sustainability focus beyond carbon in updated strategy

ACI Europe has released its Sustainability Strategy for Airports 2.0, effective October 7th, to guide airport operators’ long-term business plans. This new roadmap shifts the emphasis from solely reducing carbon emissions towards incorporating climate adaptation and resilience measures alongside decarbonisation efforts. The framework aims to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into airports' strategic decision-making processes. ACI Europe is working with ICAO EUR/NAT through this joint initiative. The strategy provides a practical approach for airports to address sustainability challenges proactively.
