Tracking airlines’ new routes as long-haul A321XLR plans take shape

Several North American airlines, including United, American, and Air Canada, are anticipating incorporating the Airbus A321XLR into their route networks starting next year. Airbus has been steadily increasing production of the A320 family variant, delivering 47 aircraft since its launch in late 2024. Currently, over 400 additional A321XLRs have been ordered by global airlines as Airbus ramps up manufacturing capabilities. American Airlines is actively planning routes utilizing this new long-haul aircraft. This expansion reflects a significant shift towards operational flexibility with the versatile A321XLR model.
