Tajikistan’s Somon Air receives first 737 Max

SomonAir, the national flag carrier of Tajikistan, has taken delivery of its inaugural Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as part of a lease agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE). The specific aircraft is a 737 MAX 8 variant and represents the initial introduction of this modern jet family to Central Asia. This acquisition forms a key component of SomonAir's planned fleet expansion strategy which includes future investments in Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Last year, Somon Air finalized the leasing arrangement with DAE for these new additions to their fleet. The arrival of the 737 MAX signifies an important step forward for the airline’s operational capabilities and growth ambitions within the region.
