First serial-production MC-21-310 conducts maiden flight

The Yakovlev MC-21-310 completed its initial test flight from the Irkutsk assembly plant on August 2, 2026. This marks a significant step forward for the twinjet’s production and delivery timeline. The aircraft is equipped with Aviadvigatel PD-14 engines and domestically sourced systems as part of Russia's import substitution program. United Aircraft undertook this maiden flight to replace foreign components within the design. While the MC-21-310 has now flown, it remains awaiting certification before deliveries can commence.
