Spin it to win it: McConnell AFB innovation

A 3D-printed tool developed at McConnell AFB is significantly accelerating aircraft wheel refinishing processes. The innovative device, created by a maintainer, enables Airmen to rotate wheels during painting operations. This eliminates the lengthy drying times traditionally required between coats of paint. Initial testing has demonstrated an ability to reduce finishing time substantially. The project originated within the 22nd Air Refueling Wing’s Innovation Lab in Kansas.
