SMBC orders 100 A320neo-family jets in follow-up to 737 Max agreement

SMBC Aviation Capital has announced an order for 100 Airbus single-aisle aircraft, specifically consisting of 65 A321neos and 35 A320neos. The leasing giant maintains a positive outlook for the A320neo variant, recognizing its continued relevance within the market landscape. Despite observed demand trends favoring larger aircraft like the A321neo, SMBC believes there remains significant interest in the smaller A320neo model. This new agreement follows previously established terms with Boeing regarding the 737 Max program. Delivery schedules for these jets are yet to be formally disclosed at this time.
