Pratt & Whitney reveals Valox small engine for uncrewed fighters

Pratt & Whitney has unveiled its new “Valox” turbofan engine, specifically designed to meet the growing needs of the unmanned fighter jet market. The engine targets a thrust range between 800 and 1,500 pounds force, aligning with current industry demands for compact and affordable propulsion systems. Engine maker Pratt & Whitney intends to capitalize on this surge in demand for smaller, lower-cost jet engines. This development was announced at the Farnborough air show by the head of P&W’s military engines division.
