Saab, GKN land new Swedish future fighter system study contracts

Saab and GKN Aerospace have secured significant contract extensions from Sweden’s Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to continue studying the development of a future fighter system (KFS). The total value of these follow-on awards is approximately SKr3.3 billion ($344 million), representing an investment in Sweden's defense capabilities. These agreements will cover study activities through at least 2028, building upon existing work related to the KFS project. The contracts aim to establish a new fighter capability for Sweden, focusing on critical research and design elements. FMV anticipates continued collaboration between Saab and GKN Aerospace throughout this extended period.
