Saab moves Sweden’s future fighter project into next phase

Saab has secured an additional contract from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) to advance ongoing development efforts concerning Sweden's upcoming fighter aircraft program. This new order, valued at approximately SEK 3.2 billion, represents a significant step in the project’s progression through its initial phases. The work will focus on continued system integration and technology maturation activities as part of the broader ambition to establish a completely new combat aircraft capability for the Swedish Armed Forces. FMV anticipates that this investment will support the delivery of the first operational aircraft by 2028.
