LATAM selects SES satellite wi-fi for more than 60 aircraft

LATAM Airlines has announced plans to install SES’ multi-orbit satellite-based in-flight connectivity system across a significant portion of its fleet. Specifically, the installation will encompass over sixty Airbus A320neo, A321XLR and Embraer 195-E2 aircraft. The Luxembourg-based company, SES, is providing an electronically-steered array (ESA) antenna system that utilizes both Eutelsat's OneWeb low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and SES’ geostationary (GEO) network. This dual-satellite approach ensures optimal coverage and performance for passengers throughout their flights. The project represents a substantial investment by LATAM to enhance passenger experience with high-speed internet connectivity.
