How to Become a Navy Pilot

Becoming a naval aviator offers individuals the opportunity to contribute to national defense alongside a challenging and fulfilling career path. The rigorous selection process begins with meeting specific physical standards, including vision requirements of 20/20 corrected and a blood pressure no higher than 140/90. Applicants must also achieve a minimum score on the Airman Aptitude Battery (AAB) test, demonstrating aptitude for aviation-related tasks. Successful candidates then proceed through officer candidate school at Naval Station Pensacola, Florida, followed by specialized flight training at various locations like Kings Bay, Georgia or Jacksonville, North Carolina. Upon completion of these demanding stages, graduates earn the rank of Ensign and embark on their service as a pilot within the United States Navy.
