British Airways shows confidence in P&W’s GTF engine with agreement covering over 60 jets

British Airways has finalized an agreement to utilize Pratt & Whitney PW1100G GTF engines for up to sixty-three Airbus A320neo aircraft. This decision reflects the carrier's increased trust in the powerplant’s performance and reliability. The selection follows IAG’s prior preference for Leap-1A engines from CFM International, highlighting a shift in operational strategy. Iberia and Aer Lingus, also part of the IAG group, will similarly operate these new engines on their fleets. This represents a significant investment by British Airways as it continues its transition towards more fuel-efficient aircraft technology.
