Air Baltic to reduce A220 fleet under new business plan

Air Baltic is planning a significant shift in its aircraft strategy, aiming for a long-term fleet of approximately 40 Airbus A220-300s as part of an interim recapitalisation. The Latvian carrier intends to decrease its current fleet size to this targeted number following the development of a new strategic plan. This €225 million ($260 million) recapitalization will directly support Air Baltic’s transition towards a more focused and efficient operation. Currently operating a total fleet of 54 aircraft, the airline's decision reflects a commitment to optimizing its resources and future growth prospects. The move underscores Air Baltic’s ambition to solidify its position within the regional aviation market.
