Swiss set to phase out last of A220-100s by end of next year

Swiss International Air Lines will conclude its operation of the Airbus A220-100 aircraft fleet by December 31st, 2027, at the latest. Originally, the airline possessed a nine-aircraft subfleet consisting entirely of this type. Currently, Swiss operates four A220-100s and has three more in storage. The decision to phase out these jets is partially driven by operational needs supporting the A220-300 program. This strategic shift reflects Lufthansa Group’s evolving fleet strategy and resource allocation priorities.
