Why Qatar Airways Handed Its Next Qsuite To A Seat Maker That Has Never Built A Flagship

Qatar Airways is partnering with Adient to manufacture its next-generation QSuite Next product, slated for delivery in late 2024. The contract involves Adient producing approximately 350 seats for the new QSuite configuration. Notably, Adient has never previously manufactured a flagship seat design before this agreement. This marks a significant shift as Qatar Airways moves away from traditional seating suppliers like Safran and Collins Aerospace. The project represents an investment of around $86 million by Qatar Airways, aiming to enhance passenger comfort and experience within their premium cabins.
