American Airlines has announced eleven new ultra-long nonstop routes, representing a significant expansion of its global network. These flights will initially operate for 17 hours, marking some of the world’s longest commercial airline journeys. The routes encompass destinations across Europe, South America and Asia, including London Heathrow, São Paulo Guarulhos, Tokyo Haneda and Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. Operational challenges are already emerging due to ongoing airspace restrictions impacting certain flight paths.
