Why Boeing's Quieter Engines Carry A Penalty No Airbus Aircraft Accepts

Boeing’s decision to discontinue its “chevrons” – aerodynamic features designed to reduce noise from its 787 Dreamliner engines – has created a significant operational challenge for the aircraft manufacturer. The company initially implemented these chevron designs, but they proved unsustainable in real-world flight conditions. Consequently, Boeing is no longer utilizing this technology, while Airbus remains unaffected by this issue. Currently, no Airbus aircraft can accept the altered engine characteristics resulting from the removal of the chevrons.
