WestJet flight attendants go on strike

WestJet’s cabin crew initiated a strike commencing Sunday, August 2nd, following unsuccessful negotiations with their union representatives. Approximately 4,400 CUPE-represented flight attendants participated in the walkout immediately after midnight. As a direct result of the strike action, WestJet has been forced to cancel hundreds of flights across Canada. The disruption is impacting passenger travel plans and causing significant operational challenges for the airline. Negotiations between WestJet and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) remain unresolved at this time.
