Vietjet, CFM assess Vietnam LEAP engine MRO

CFM International and Vietjet have formalized a letter of intent to evaluate the potential for establishing local maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities specifically tailored for LEAP engines within Vietnam. This initiative aligns with an agreement during Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam’s visit to France, demonstrating a commitment to strengthening aviation support infrastructure in the country. CFM International will provide consulting services to advise on this feasibility assessment, outlining the necessary steps for developing these MRO operations. The focus is on supporting Vietjet's fleet utilizing LEAP engines currently operating throughout Vietnam. Ultimately, this collaboration aims to reduce reliance on external maintenance providers and bolster Vietnam’s aerospace sector.
