Vertical opens first assembly site but decision on ‘full-scale’ factories awaits

Vertical Aerospace has initiated operations at its inaugural production facility situated in Kemble, England. This new facility is designed to produce up to thirty-seven aircraft annually, which will be crucial for achieving Valo certification and fulfilling initial customer orders. The company anticipates a particularly active final quarter of 2026, with several announcements expected regarding further expansion plans. Vertical is currently evaluating potential locations for two significant manufacturing sites within the United Kingdom. Specifically, they are exploring establishing a ‘gigafactory’ dedicated to battery production alongside other facilities.
