US Army taps Collins for Chinook avionics upgrade

Collins Aerospace has been awarded a contract by the US Army valued at up to $472 million. This significant investment will focus on engineering services related to the modernization and sustainment of the entire CH-47 Chinook fleet. The RTX business unit is tasked with delivering new avionics upgrades specifically designed to integrate emerging capabilities. These upgrades are intended to combat existing obsolescence issues within the helicopter’s current architecture. Collins anticipates this work will substantially strengthen the overall avionics systems utilized in the Chinook helicopters.
