Updated IFF system certificated for F-16

BAE Systems has certified a new Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capability, the AN/APX-127(V)1 Combined Interrogator Transponder (CIT), specifically designed for Lockheed Martin’s F-16 fighter aircraft. This updated IFF tool addresses new cybersecurity requirements, enhancing the system's overall protection. The CIT will assist F-16 pilots in differentiating between friendly allied aircraft and potential threats operating within contested airspace environments.
