United to deploy A321XLRs on five new international routes in 2027

United Airlines plans to launch ten new international routes beginning in 2027, utilizing half of these flights with Airbus A321XLR aircraft. These long-range narrowbody jets will initially serve Ibiza and Valencia in Spain, alongside Marseille and Toulouse in France, as well as Luxembourg City. United anticipates commencing operations with select domestic routes using the new A321XLRs starting in September. This deployment represents a significant expansion for the US carrier’s route network. The airline's strategy involves leveraging the range capabilities of the A321XLR for both international and domestic travel opportunities.
