TAI set to resume T-70 production following US sanctions relief

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is preparing to restart production of the T-70 utility helicopter, a local adaptation of the Sikorsky S-70 design. This resumption follows the lifting of sanctions imposed by the United States government. According to Mehmet Demiroglu, TAI’s chief executive officer, production has already commenced and was discussed at the Farnborough air show. The improved relationship between Ankara and Washington played a crucial role in removing these restrictions. The T-70 programme represents an important element within Turkey's aerospace capabilities and defense industry strategy.
