Swedish Gripens to defend Ukraine aid hub as Poland eases air-defense rules

Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft are now participating in safeguarding the Rzeszów-Jasionka logistics hub, a critical site for delivering assistance to Ukraine. The Swedish contribution follows Poland’s decision to modify its regulations concerning air defense operations within the region. Initial deployments of the Gripens have commenced at the Jasionka hub, bolstering existing defenses. This collaboration represents an expansion of NATO support efforts directed towards Ukraine's ongoing needs. Polish authorities have relaxed restrictions on air defense assets operating near the logistical center, facilitating this new operational phase.
