Shield AI Builds Full-Scale Autonomous VTOL Fighter Prototype

Shield AI has unveiled a full-scale prototype of its X-Bat, an autonomous Vertical Takeoff and Launch Strike Fighter (VTOLSF). The company asserts that this represents the world’s initial fully autonomous VTOLSF design. This new aircraft is designed for rapid deployment and operation without pilot intervention. Shield AI claims the X-Bat can be launched from ships or land bases, offering significant tactical advantages. Testing of the X-Bat is currently underway, with the goal of demonstrating operational capabilities.
