Rolls-Royce Says A Stretched 'A350-2000' Would Need Up To 7 Years Of Engine Development

Rolls-Royce has stated that developing engines for a stretched ‘A350-2000’ variant would require up to seven years of development work. This extended timeline stems from significant changes needed in the engine design compared to the existing ‘A350-2000’. The new, longer fuselage necessitates modifications to accommodate increased fuel flow and thrust requirements. Rolls-Royce anticipates this will involve substantial investment and engineering efforts.
