Rolls-Royce lifted by ELEVATED funding for hybrid-electric UltraFan research

Rolls-Royce has secured elevated funding from the Clean Aviation program to advance its hybrid-electric UltraFan demonstrator project. The initiative will integrate a hybrid-electric system into a donor engine, marking a key step in developing sustainable aviation technology. This €290 million ($332 million) investment is part of a broader effort encompassing nineteen selected projects announced on September 17th by Clean Aviation. Rolls-Royce’s work directly supports Clean Aviation's goals for innovation within the aerospace sector. Ultimately, this research aims to reduce carbon emissions and improve fuel efficiency through advanced propulsion systems.
