In August 2026, five deep space network antennas were observed absorbing sunlight at the Goldstone Complex situated near Barstow, California. A newly constructed Deep Space Station 23, measuring 34 meters (114 feet), was prominently positioned to the right of the primary image’s foreground. This new antenna utilizes a beam-waveguide design for optimal signal reception. The existing array includes DSS-26 and DSS-25, both also featuring a 34-meter diameter. These facilities are critical components in ongoing astronomical observations and data transmission from spacecraft.
