P&W offers backing for A220 stretch

Pratt & Whitney is actively engaged in discussions with Airbus regarding plans for an extended version of the A220 aircraft. The engine manufacturer intends to utilize its current PW1500G geared turbofan powerplant for this potential stretch variant. Rick Deurloo, speaking at the Farnborough air show, confirmed Pratt & Whitney’s commitment to supporting the project. This collaboration focuses specifically on leveraging the existing capabilities and technology within the PW1500G engine family. Currently, all A220 models are powered by Pratt & Whitney's PW1500G GTF engines.
