Lufthansa Airbus A321 Diverts After Passenger's Power Bank Catches Fire

A Lufthansa Airbus A321 experienced an issue during flight LH611 on Tuesday, October 3rd, while traveling from Vienna to Frankfurt. The problem originated when a passenger’s power bank caught fire within the aircraft cabin. As a direct consequence of the event, all 175 passengers and crew were required to disembark at Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport. Authorities facilitated accommodation for everyone onboard, necessitating an overnight stay in Lyon due to the disruption. Flight operations resumed on Wednesday, October 4th, following necessary repairs and safety checks conducted by Lufthansa.
