Hyundai Rotem, KAI to develop long-range air-to-air missile

Hyundai Rotem and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) have formalized a partnership focused on the development of a long-range air-to-air missile specifically designed for use with the KF-21 fighter jet. The agreement was established through a memorandum of understanding signed at KAI’s headquarters in Sacheon, South Korea. This collaboration will concentrate on “air armaments,” encompassing various related technologies within this project. Hanwha Group has increased its stake in KAI to surpass 15%, signaling further investment in Korean defense capabilities. The initiative represents a significant step towards bolstering the nation's aerospace defenses and supporting the ongoing development of the KF-21 program.
