Heart Aerospace carries out piloted maiden flight of all-electric X1

Heart Aerospace successfully completed the inaugural flight of its all-electric X1 demonstrator on August 12th, marking a significant milestone for the company. The four-engined aircraft, registered N301HX, undertook this flight from Plattsburgh Airport in New York, utilizing runway 35 for takeoff. This event follows an unveiling of the experimental aircraft nearly two years prior. The X1 is representative of Heart Aerospace’s plans for the ES-30 airliner, which will also be battery powered. Representatives from FlightGlobal reported that this maiden flight represents a key step forward in the development of electric aviation technology.
