Global airport traffic hits record in 2025

In 2025, global airports processed a remarkable 9.8 billion passengers according to Airports Council International (ACI) World’s report. This represented an all-time high for air travel volumes globally during that year. Simultaneously, air cargo shipments achieved unprecedented levels of growth alongside passenger numbers. However, the strong performance observed in 2025 has begun to moderate as of 2026. Passenger traffic is experiencing slower expansion due to increasing geopolitical and economic challenges, despite continued increases in cargo volume.
