Germany’s first F-35 takes flight

Lockheed Martin announced that Germany's inaugural flight of its first F-35A stealth fighter occurred on September 8th from the company’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The aircraft is one of a planned order for 35 conventional take-off and landing F-35A fighters for the German military. This milestone represents a significant step forward in integrating this advanced technology into the Luftwaffe’s fleet. Lockheed confirmed the successful takeoff with video footage released to the public. Germany intends to utilize these new jets within its existing defense strategy.
