Former F-16 thrust vectoring system integrated with X-Bat

Shield AI and GE Aerospace have achieved a significant milestone by integrating the AVEN (Axisymmetric Vectoring Exhaust Nozzle) system, previously utilized in 95 flights during the 1990s, with the F110-GE-129E engine. This integration is specifically designed to power a prototype of the developmental collaborative combat aircraft, known as the X-Bat. Engineers from both companies undertook the modification and incorporation of AVEN into the engine’s architecture. The project represents an evolution of thrust vectoring technology for advanced aerial platforms. Initial testing has been completed on this innovative configuration, marking a crucial step forward in developing next-generation fighter capabilities.
