Finland’s first F-35s arrive home with full fleet expected by 2030

Finland has received its initial delivery of Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth fighter aircraft, marking a significant step in the nation's ambitious modernization program. Two F-35As successfully landed at Rovaniemi airport on September 18th, operated by the Finnish air force’s Lapland Air Wing. Helsinki intends to ultimately deploy a total of sixty-four single-engined strike fighters within its armed forces. The Finnish government anticipates that the full fleet of F-35s will be operational by 2030, bolstering Finland’s defense capabilities.
