FAA approves Hermeus to fly Quarterhorse Mk 2.2 supersonically

Hermeus, a US hypersonic developer, has secured regulatory approval from the FAA for supersonic flight testing of its newest aircraft design, the Quarterhorse Mk 2.2. This authorization follows previous successful demonstrations where the company’s Mk 2.1 jet had already achieved supersonic speeds. The FAA intends to publish this special flight authorisation notice on September 11th. It allows Hermeus to exceed Mach 1 with this latest iteration. This marks an important step forward in the development and validation of Hermeus' technology within the United States.
