Ex-Volt: Aura Aero flies defunct rival’s hybrid-electric demonstrator under new name

Aura Aero has initiated flight testing with the former Cassio S aircraft, previously developed by VoltAero, following its acquisition of the French firm's assets in June. The demonstrator, now rebranded as the X-Volt, is designed to support 19-seat ERA development programs. This project represents a significant step forward for Aura Aero’s ambitions within the hybrid-electric aviation sector. The aircraft will serve as a flying testbed, allowing for real-world performance evaluation and data collection. Initial flights are being conducted in support of ongoing research and development efforts related to the X-Volt program.
