DAF releases final results of M18 MHS supplemental inspection

The Department of Air Force (DAF) has completed its directed supplemental safety inspection focused on confirming the operational readiness of the M18 Modular Handgun System. The inspection, initiated following concerns regarding potential issues with the system’s functionality and reliability, was conducted across multiple locations. Specifically, DAF officials assessed various aspects of the M18's performance during the evaluation. Results indicated that while some minor deficiencies were identified, the M18 Modular Handgun System is now deemed operationally ready for deployment. Further monitoring will continue to ensure sustained operational effectiveness.
