Collins Aerospace has successfully finished high-altitude testing for a proposed enhancement to the F-35’s power and cooling system. The RTX subsidiary achieved this developmental milestone on August 24th, marking progress in upgrading Lockheed Martin's stealth fighter. This Enhanced Power and Cooling System (EPACS) aims to increase electrical power and improve cooling capabilities within the aircraft. Collins is competing with Honeywell for the contract to modernize the F-35’s existing Honeywell-manufactured power system. These tests represent a significant step forward in ensuring optimal performance of the F-35 across various operational altitudes.
