Bering Air Grand Caravan fatally stalled after pre-occupied pilot missed falling airspeed

A Bering Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan experienced a fatal stall during a charter flight in Alaska due to a pilot’s failure to respond to a decreasing airspeed. According to US investigators, the pilot was preoccupied with managing the de-icing system and approaching an Alaskan airport. Specifically, the pilot did not increase power as needed to maintain altitude. This resulted in a loss of control and ultimately, a crash occurred during the scheduled flight. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident at the time of publication.
