Airbus is undertaking a significant modification of an initial A330neo aircraft slated for conversion into a Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) variant. This conversion project is being conducted at Airbus facilities in Getafe, Spain, marking the first such adaptation of the type. The resulting aircraft will be delivered to Thailand as its next-generation aerial refueling platform. Specifically, the Thai military’s new tanker will incorporate advanced features including refueling booms, a comprehensive medical evacuation equipment package, and capabilities suitable for Very Important Personel (VVIP) transport missions.
