Astronaut Jonny Kim leaves NASA, will return to active military duty

NASA astronaut Jonny Kim has made the decision to depart from the agency and resume his service within the United States Army. This move follows Kim’s successful completion of a single mission in space as part of his tenure with NASA. The former pilot and medical doctor previously served as an Air Force Pararescue medic before joining NASA in 2013. He flew on board the SpaceX Dragon Resilience capsule as part of Expedition 67, which launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Kim will now focus on continuing his military career following years dedicated to space exploration and contributing to NASA's objectives.
