A350-1000ULR arrives in Melbourne after ultra-long range test flight from Toulouse

Airbus’s inaugural A350-1000ULR, designated ‘Airbus 35LR’, completed a significant nonstop test flight from Toulouse to Melbourne. The journey spanned approximately 19 hours and 11 minutes, representing an ultra-long range operation. During the flight, the crew evaluated testing systems including aft fuel tank configurations. Upon arrival at Melbourne Airport, the aircraft executed an Instrument Landing System (ILS) approach before landing on runway 27. This successful demonstration marks a key milestone in Qantas’s Project Sunrise program.
