A first in 60 years: JB Andrews stands up new helicopter squadron

Joint Base Andrews (JBA) has activated the 5th Helicopter Squadron, a significant milestone marking the first new rotary-wing squadron activation for the installation in sixty years. This historic event signifies a renewed focus on aviation capabilities within the base’s operations. The newly formed squadron will spearhead the integration and modernization efforts involving the HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopters.
