Westwind ambulance suffered burst tyre before damaging Las Vegas excursion

A Canadian-registered IAI 1124A Westwind medical jet experienced a runway excursion at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas last month, on August 28th. US investigators determined that the incident began with a burst tire during the aircraft’s departure for Toronto. The executive jet was bound for Toronto in the early hours of August 28th when the tyre failure occurred. Preliminary findings from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are currently available. This event caused damage to the ambulance operating within the aircraft, highlighting potential safety concerns regarding tire maintenance and inspection protocols.
