Virginia College Becomes Latest to Join ATC ‘Fast Track’ Program

Shenandoah University has been officially accepted into the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Electronic Communication Training Initiative – E-CTI – program, marking a significant step in streamlining air traffic control technician training. This marks the 13th institution nationwide to participate in the program, with Shenandoah University representing the inaugural entry from Virginia universities. The E-CTI initiative, established by the FAA, aims to accelerate the development of qualified Air Traffic Controller Analysts (ATCA). Students at Shenandoah will now have access to specialized coursework designed to rapidly prepare them for these critical roles within the aviation sector. The FAA’s goal is to reduce the time it takes to fully train ATCA candidates and bolster the workforce supporting national airspace operations.
