United Airlines receives first Airbus jet with Pratt’s GTF Advantage

Pratt & Whitney's (P&W) PW1100G Advantage engine has been delivered to United Airlines as the initial customer for this technology. Airbus completed the delivery of the first aircraft equipped with the updated geared turbofans (GTFs) on September 23rd. This particular aircraft is an A321XLR, marking a significant step in utilizing Pratt’s advancements. The GTF Advantage engine is designed to be more durable than previous versions of the turbofan. United Airlines will now operate this new generation aircraft, representing a key milestone for both companies.
